HORTICULTURAL SCIENCES
ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN HORTICULTURE

Course Aim:
The aim of the course is to produce a competent technologist who will be capable of decision-making at an intellectual level requiring mature judgement, and who will have the ability to conceive, identify and optimise technical solutions for the propagation, production and maintenance or application of plants in a horticultural and landscape setting.

Opportunities:
Similar to those for the Diploma in Horticulture, but this qualification opens possibilities for research positions or advanced positions in the management of horticultural establishments.

Admission requirements:
A National Diploma in Horticulture (or an equivalent qualification) is required. Preference will be given to students with an average of 60% in the final year of study of the National Diploma. Senior Certificate Mathematics (or an approved equivalent) is also required.
