BACHELOR OF HEALTH SC IN MED LAB SCIENCE

Course Aim:
The Department of Biomedical Sciences offers a qualification in the field of Medical Laboratory Science. Previously studies in Medical Laboratory Science were offered as a National Diploma in Biomedical Technology and a B Tech: Biomedical Technology, but these qualification has since been phased out. The 502 credit Professional Bachelor of Health Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, has replaced the National Diploma as well as the B Tech degree at CPUT.

The Biomedical Sciences department at CPUT offers two articulation pathways between the old NQF qualifications and the new HEQSF aligned qualifications, namely:


2. Articulation from B. Tech Biomedical Technology (NQF level 7, 120 credits) to BHSc in Medical Laboratory Science (NQF level 8, 502 credits).
