INTERIOR DESIGN
DIPLOMA IN INTERIOR DESIGN

Course Aim:
The practice of interior design relates to architecture on the one hand and to industrial design on the other. The aim of the course is to develop awareness and skills in creative problem-solving processes focusing on three-dimensional design, primarily related to the interior of the built environment.

Knowledge of the performance of materials and the possibilities they offer in construction is thoroughly researched and understood. Our students are well-versed in the skills required to communicate their design intention and be productively employable on graduation.

The Interior Design program at CPUT (Cape Peninsula University of Technology) is committed to the development of a theoretical basis for the study and practice of design where creativity is linked with theory. The program's educational agenda is to challenge the accepted assumptions about Interior Design and test latest ideas through design project work.
