POSTGRAD DIP IN HUMAN RESOURCE MNGT

Course Aim:
Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management is designed for working HR professionals to strengthen and deepen their knowledge in the HR discipline by engaging a combination of high-level theories, concepts and principles (knowledge), with workplace processes and procedures in a range of contexts (practice) in order to develop intellectual independence and professional competencies, while embedding ethical conduct (professional engagement).

Opportunities:
The PGDip (HRM) enables HR professionals to undertake advanced reflection and development via systematic survey of current thinking, practice and research methods in the HR field of study.

Graduates are able to advance in senior HR related career paths, including but not limited to, Chief Directorate: Human Resource Management and Development, Director: Organisational Development and HR Planning, Group Executive Human Resources, and Head: Human Capital Management.


Admission requirements:
Admission criteria: 60% average of the final year subjects in either the Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, and completed the introductory subject of Research Methodology from the following programmes:
• Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management on NQF level 7 consisting of 120 SAQA credits; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management on NQF level 7 consisting of 360 SAQA credits.
• Advanced Diploma in either Human Resource Development or Labour Relations on NQF level 7 consisting of 120 SAQA credits; or
• Bachelor’s degree in either Industrial-, or Organisational- or Social Psychology on NQF level 7 consisting of 360 SAQA credits.

In addition, a candidate will be considered for admission into this qualification if they are in possession of an appropriate pre-HEQSF Baccalaureus Technologiae (NQF level 7 consisting of 120 SAQA credits) or equivalent qualification in either Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, or Labour Relations.

Owing to the purpose of this programme and its professional orientation design for working HR professions, it is recommended that applicants have at least 2-years HR specific work experience.

Part time students must provide a letter of full-time employment, preferably in a HR-related environment.
