POSTGRAD DIPLOMA IN RETAIL BUSINESS MNGT
Course Aim:
The aim of the Post Graduate Diploma in Retail Business Management is to enable working professionals in retailing and allied disciplines to systematically undertake advanced reflection and development of contemporary thinking, practice, and research methods in retail business management in an environment that is technology-driven.
The purpose of the qualification is to develop managers in the wholesale and retail sector who are in more senior levels than the chain and franchise store levels that are being catered for by the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Retail Business Management.
Opportunities:
The graduates of the PGDip in Retail Business Management could become entrepreneurs and own retail franchise stores or get employed as regional managers of chain stores, senior managers responsible for retail operations, logistics, retail buying. Graduates of this programme could also be employed in other specialised areas such as e-tailing, e-supply chain and so on.
Admission requirements:
An appropriate-HEQSF aligned Bachelor’s Degree or an appropriate Advanced Diploma at NQF level 7, or equivalent qualification at SAQA NQF level 7 or a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Retail Business Management or in any Business or Management Sciences-related field. Candidates with qualifications not related to Business and Management Sciences will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A candidate will also be considered for admission to this qualification if he/she is in possession of an appropriate pre-HEQSF BTECH (NQF level 7) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Retail Business Management or in any Business or Management Sciences-related field. Candidates may also be admitted through a process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - an instrument that accredits the acquired knowledge, competencies, and capabilities of a person, gained through informal and non-formal learning.
